With the mod 'A World at War', I tried to bring more of that macro into it and providing nations/unit choices like GSM, with making it less campy, more action based and fun. Sure it is more arcade but in all I believe it's more fun and more balanced with timings from my knowledge. In vanilla type gameplay it is more micro and macro mixed and provide more actions. If you like a slower paced game with realism and macro go for it! Anyway just saying the reason why competitive players don't like it. The gameplay for a competitive player is very campy and slow and you don't really need to click many buttons. As having a position or a right tank get into a position will dominate and hold a position very easily due to ranges and lethality. With GSM, Robz it relies more on macro and the buys. In terms on the ability to play the mod well. It's great that people can find what they like with different mods.įrom a competitive players perspective. It would be nice if robz grenades were as dangerous as grenades in gsm. Gsm it increases due to lower accuracy requiring more shots to take out a tank. Tank micro doesn't really change for robz. Overall it is hard to do any infantry micro because they can be killed really easily. But both have more macro then micro in normal team games at least. Only needing to micro the at guns while enermy is distracted with tanks. Most of the team games I have played have ended in line battles. Robz things are cheaper and cost less cp. I have played only one robz match where micro was intensive.

Then there is heavy micro throwing grenades and dodging grenades especially in mid. In vanilla it is spawn assault/elite rifle sqaud. maybe you feel that way because infantry in cover got bonus health or its overall more difficult to kill in vanilla (especially invulnerable tanks). People like these mods because it lowers micro and increases macro therefore lowing skills gap.
